I'm telling you this because I've experienced it myself, firsthand. I've tried brand name Viagra and it works great. I've also tried generic Viagra from several online pharmacies and they worked just as great.
As far as safety is concerned, the generic Viagra that I've experienced gave me pretty much the same side effects as brand name Viagra. You know, the flushed face and stuffy nose.
